Gothic & Blackletter Typefaces include types of German Fraktura and Gothic, Textura and possibly others based on 'manuscript hands' pre-dating the invention of printing with movable type. It has been argued that Gothic & Blackletter Typefaces, based on the principle of the historical development of Type, should come first in any classification system.
