Old Style Serif fonts are distinguished by left inclined stress and generally a reduced contrast between the thick and thin strokes, serifs of the lower case are always oblique. A Venetian minor subdivision has a diagonal cross bar on the 'e' plus most show a cupping in the capital serifs. They are part of a major category of typefaces in which all characters have a short counter stroke at the end of stems, arms and tails. |
