The Chank Company is a Minneapolis-based, full-service design firm, specializing in fonts. Mister Chank Diesel (better known as Charles R. Anderson the "Elvis of the font-world"), president and CEO, began making fonts in 1992 when he worked as creative director of the alternative music magazine, Cake. The first font, called Mr Frisky, was designed in 1994 and remains his most popular. Other exclusive fonts from Chank include: Chauncy, Hoosker Doo, Liquorstore, Lambrettista, Mingler Nipsy, Parkway Motel, Orbital and Space Toaster. Chank employs a band of talented teenage type designers called the Chank Army and their work is featured on their web site.

Chank started selling fonts door-to-door as The Travelling Font Salesman in 1995. His fonts were featured in the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum as a notable example of contemporary typography in 1996. In the same year he established www.chank.com. In 1997 he formally set up The Chank Company in Minneapolis. As well as making fonts, Mister Chank Diesel is also known for his art works, his business plans and he also mops floors (according to his web site).
