Device Fonts is a digital font foundry set up in 1993 and distributes the collection of original typefaces made by London-based graphic designer Rian Hughes. His designs all display his special love for the world of comic books. Rian Hughes studied at the LCP in London before working for an advertising agency, i-D magazine, and a series of record sleeve design companies. Under the name Device he now provides design and illustration for advertising campaigns, record sleeves, book jackets, graphic novels and television. Since setting up his studio, Device, he has worked extensively for the British and American comic industries as both designer, typographer, and illustrator. In addition to designing typefaces for FontShop's FontFont range (including the the 60's-style typeface, FF Revolver and the humorous FF Rian's Dingbats), fonts for clients such as MacUser, 2000AD, Newquay Steam, and PC Format magazine are released via his own label Device Fonts.

Device fonts mostly consist of display typefaces and usually have wacky names such as CrashBangWallop, Foonky and Scrotnig. Dingbat fonts include: Pic_Format, Mastertext Symbols, MacDings, RiansDingbats, Autofont. Other fonts: Lusta (big family), Reasonist, Customised Foonky Starred, Motorcity, Cyberdelic, Regulator, Ainsdale, Altoona, AnytimeNow, Bingo, Bordello, Chascarillo, ContourC, Cottingley, Darkside, DfAncestorITC, DfAttitudesPlain, DoomPlatoon, Elektron, Griffin, HotRod (2002).
