Gert Wiescher studied graphic design at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He worked in Paris, then Barcelona, where he designed the OECD-Pavillion for the Osaka World Expo at the office of Harnden & Bombelli. In South Africa he worked with Grey & Young Advertising where he to fiddled around with Agfa cameras and films, Epol dog-food, several brands of toilet paper, and some unbelievable insurance companies to name but a few products.
Back in Munich, DFS&R-Dorland made him an art-director for Paulaner, CMA, Phillip Morris, and Peugeot. Being a young adventurous man, he moved onto the Herrwerth & Partner agency, where Mr. Herrwerth taught Gert to "think simple". He assisted with the introduction of IKEA into the German market. Later, he became Creative Partner with Lauenstein & Partner until 1982 when he ventured out on his own.
Since then Gert has designed several typefaces per year. He writes books and newspaper articles about design, computers, food, drink and crime! |
