| The main factor influencing the choice of typefaces for newspapers is the deleterious effect of printing on poor quality paper at high speed from giant reels. With the introduction of colour, the quality of the paper had to be improved, but newspapers still find it difficult to print fine lines without loss, hence newspaper type must have a robustness not demanded by other areas of printing. |
