While letterheads give the typographer the opportunity to be sensitive and discerning, so that copywriters can be identified by Snell Roundhand and mechanical engineers are represented by Industria, there is a modern trend to make letterheads fine and discrete. So Bodoni's and classical romans are still popular and very often the address is set in a light condensed sans serif that is less than obtrusive. However the important point about letterheads is that almost any typeface can be used as long as the client identifies with the result. |
