Creating documents that are supposed to accurately represent a specific period does introduce a special dilemma. Obviously the type should be typical of the period but is it acceptable to use a recent design to portray days gone by? For example should Benguiat with its Art Nouveau look be used when the time is supposed to be the 1900s? Maybe this is just typographic pedantry? |
