Specially designed fonts for use on web pages (eg: GIFs) and multimedia (eg: Flash). Unlike conventional typefaces designed for printing, Pixel Fonts provide crisp screen images at very small sizes because they have no anti-aliasing. Pixel fonts are designed on a strict grid exactly matching the pixel grid on screens and monitors. They can't be scaled - they have to be used at their designed size. Possibly the best known pixel font is Mini 7, which has been described as the "Helvetica of the pixel font world". |
